Where Will Tomorrow's Water Come From?
SDCTA Chairman of the Board, John O'Neill, introduces the panelists
to the audience at the SDCTA Breakfast Club Forum held at the Mission
Valley Hilton. The topic of the discussion was water supply reliability.
The panelists for the forum were (from left to right) Spreck Rosekrans
from Environmental Defense, Dr. David Pierce from the Scripps Institution of
Oceanography, Eric Larson from the San Diego County Farm Bureau, Maureen
Stapleton from the San Diego County Water Authority, and Pete Silva from the
Metropolitan Water District
Bob Kittle, Editorial Page Editor for the San Diego Union-Tribune moderated the forum.
Over 175 guests came out to listen to experts discuss the future of San Diego's
water supply. The audience heard the consequences of a possible water shortage
along with various ways to conserve water and increase supply within the region.
