Will San Diego Get a New Sports Stadium? Taxpayers Association Releases Part Three of Mission Valley Analysis

The San Diego County Taxpayers Association (SDCTA) completed the third section of its independent evaluation of the SoccerCity and SDSU West proposals. In just a few months, voters will be deciding whether to adopt one of these visions for the Mission Valley stadium site.

Section three provides information about the existing stadium, including the current cost of its maintenance. This will serve as important context for voters should both initiatives fail. The report also dives into specifics about how a new stadium would be built and maintained under each proposal, as well as who would cover the costs of construction and the demolition of the old stadium.

With two more sections still to be released, SDCTA continues to review both initiatives in preparation for November’s general election. Coming up, SDCTA will publish its final sections answering the following questions:

What are the land use planning processes laid out within each proposal?

What tax revenues will be created or maintained through these plans?
