Public Affairs Intern

Job Description: The SDCTA Public Affairs intern will assist with:

  • Drafting talking points & on current policy issues

  • Drafting Press Releases

  • Strategy Development

  • Preparing CEO for speaking engagements

  • Accompanying Engagement Coordinator & CEO to media engagements

  • Planning event logistics

  • Social Media Management

  • Marketing and outreach

  • Administrative duties as needed

  • Scheduling engagement activities for CEO

This is the ideal internship for a student pursuing a career in public affairs, public relations, journalism, politics, communications, or non-profit management.

Although this is an unpaid position, students may earn academic credit for the internship through their university’s internship program office.

Qualifications:  The Association is seeking interns with a passion to make a meaningful impact in the community. This position requires a can-do attitude and willingness to jump in on projects.

Communication, political science, public relations, journalism or business majors are preferred. The internship is open to all majors, but a passion to make an impact in the community is required!

Interns will be expected to work a minimum of 10-15 hours a week for 10 weeks (a commitment of two quarters or one semester is preferred).
