Taxpayers Association Calls For Delay on Ballot Measure Decision

San Diego County Taxpayers Association’s president and CEO, Haney Hong, issued the following statement regarding today’s San Diego Association of Government’s expected vote on a half-cent sales tax ballot measure:

“The San Diego County Taxpayers Association is troubled that SANDAG has only allowed for one week between the meeting to discuss the final draft expenditure plan and the board vote to advance the half cent, 40 year tax increase for the November 2016 ballot. Giving the community only one week to weigh in on a $18 billion expenditure of taxpayer funds is unreasonable considering the long-term impacts to the San Diego region. We urge the SANDAG board of directors to delay their vote by one month.”
