SDCTA Adopted Statewide Pension Reform Recommendations
In San Diego County, many cities and counties have implemented pension reforms to the maximum extent allowed by state law. Jurisdictions are now beginning to implement new reforms allowed for under Assembly Bill (AB) 340, otherwise known as the California Public Employees' Pension Reform Act of 2013. There have been discussions about trying to place a measure on the statewide ballot calling for additional statewide pension reform. This document provides background regarding the reforms outlined in AB 340 and further statewide reforms recommended by the San Diego County Taxpayers Association (SDCTA).
